The client had been wanting to level the front lawn area as it was above Driveway and the front yard was large but small in terms of activity area. When clearing the ground, it was found that the soil was high in sand content and the geology was soft, in order to prevent the cement from cracking due to geological subsidence in the future, we constructed the gravel bedding and reinforcement with thickening and tamping, and the cement was also thickened to 150mm to give a stronger foundation and prolong the service life of the cement.
Slope shovelling also has to consider the drainage problem, the original ground has a slope, the accumulated water will naturally drain along the slope, but now the ground is shovelled, you need to increase the drainage outlet, you can make a slight slope to lead the water correctly to the drainage outlet ✅ , fast drainage to avoid accumulation of water 💧 .
The ground is shovelled flat, what to do with the contact surface of the level and slope? The most effective solution is to build a retaining wall, which can stop the soil from sliding . However, Concrete will expand and contract thermally, so it is necessary to set up expansion joints at the location in contact with the retaining wall, and the bottom of the expansion joints should be filled with expansion cotton first, in order to prevent the cement from expanding past the extrusion and damaging the retaining wall, and also to prevent the cement from arching or cracking .
The final finished effect, simple and neat, beautiful cement will look more atmospheric 💕 ~
